I really loved the quote "The soil knows what to do. Let the soil do the work". That was so awesome. And I loved the fact that the other organic farmers had time to talk with them, where as the other farmers were too hectic to stop and talk. I think that says so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win.
I really enjoyed learning about how much healthier the family has been since they went organic. Great! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was amazing that they have 42 different pads of land, and are able to switch their cows to a different grazing pad each day.

I love the comment on the video about food and empty nutrition. Made me think more about justifying organic now as a needed thing!
ReplyDeleteI am like many of the others, I loved the part about the soil. Healthy soil will grow healthy plants which leads to healthy animals.....a wonderful allusion to the circle of life!!!!!!!

This was a very inspiring video! I learned that Guy Coiniere visited other organic farms to learn how to become organic, and one farmer finally told him, "The soil knows that to do!" It was great to see his family (son, wife, and father) involved in the day to day farming life.

HEALTHY SOIL MAKES FOR A HEALTHY END PRODUCT. ORGANIC IS HEALTHIER.
ReplyDeleteORGANIC FARMING IS LESS HECTIC. QUALTY IS MUCH MRE IMPORTANT THAN SIZE.

I like the "the soil knows what to do" part. That's sort of my mantra around our house for talking my husband into natural yard care.garden options.

thaty the soil tell them what to do, they look healthy, the family is hardly ever sick
ReplyDeleteheathergfox2003@yahoo.com
Making the switch to organic farming seems to have created a better lifestyle for Guy and his family, in addition to creating a healthier product for us. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteladygeezer14 at yahoo dot com
I was impressed by his learning and understanding that nature really gives you all the tools you need. basically, you just need to get out of the way and let nature do its work.
ReplyDeleteI liked that the family wanted to continue farming and researched alternative methods (organic) to sustain the whole family.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the most important statement in the video is "the soil knows what to do."
ReplyDeleteInteresting he said "the soil knows what to do". So is the farm profitable now?
ReplyDeleteI never thought that going with organic foods could make such a huge difference!

The "The the soil do the work" quote is awesome. I can see the truth of that in my own backyard. The previous owners of our house used icky pesticides to "care" for their lawn, and we are going with an environmentally friendly company. In only one year, the flooding issue that we had had when we first moved in is much better, and our lawn looks just as healthy as our next door neighbor who goes the pesticide route.

I like how he rotates the cows through 42 different pastures, one per day for 42 days, to give the cows access to fresh pasture every day and to allow the pasture time to recover before the cows are put on it again. Great system! A very inspiring video too!
ReplyDeleteHealthier soil makes for healthier pastures for animals to graze on.

The transition was tough at first — soils needed to be rebuilt, and the cows needed a fresh paddock to graze every day. Guy was still on the run.
