ShopRite's Shop Once. Give Twice. Program plus $25 Gift Card Giveaway

Many people forget that hunger is a HUGE problem not just around the world, but also right here in the United States. ShopRite has teamed up with General Mills to create the Shop Once. Give Twice. Program to try and do their part to help. Now through September 30, 2011 purchase 5 participating General Mills products with your ShopRite Price Plus Club Card, and 5 Bonus Box tops ($.50 value to school) will be electronically added to your school’s Box Tops earnings and $.55 will be donated to the ShopRite Partners in Caring Fund. It is super easy to sign up and get started. First you need a ShopRite Price Plus Club Card. Once you have that you will need to visit the Shop Once. Give Twice. site to register your card. During the registration process you will be able to select your school that you want your electornic Box Tops to be credited to. You can then check to see what this month's current participating products are. I was very lucky that in February, all of the Cheerios brand cereals were participating in this program. I have come to learn that boys have big appetities, even at a young age. And I have a lot of boys. So we go though a lot of Cheerios. A lot. So I was able to stock up while helping this cause. As a bonus I picked up a few boxes of Cheerios with books in them. Love it!

We have 3 kids in public schools now and my husband and I do our best to give back to the schools and be involved with our children's education. We are both members of the PTO and try to participate in all school fundraisers and my husband is on the Board of Education. So I really like that with this program not only am I helping raise money to fight hunger but I am also raising some money for our elementary school. In this tough economy where education budgets are seeing some cuts, every little bit helps.

So if you are a ShopRite shopper I urge you to sign up for this program. Its free and takes only a few minutes to register. All you have to do is keep en eye on which products are participating every month and if there is something you like to buy well then you can feel good knowing that a little bit of money is being donated to your school and to fight hunger.
