Eight years ago on a beautiful Saturday in May 2003 my husband and I were married on a lakeside in Connecticut. I loved our wedding. The venue was gorgeous, we were surrounded by our family and friends and I was told that the food was great. We could not have asked for a more perfect day.
Four years later on that same day our twin boys were born. Of course the births of all of my children are memorable, but the twins is probably even more so. Because it kicked my ass. See I had the pleasure of not only delivering two babies, but also delivering via two methods. After being induced at 39 weeks and 1 day, and spending the majority of the day on Pitocin, "Baby A" had a fairly nice and easy vaginal delivery. "Baby B" not so much. Nope, he opted to enter the world via an emergency c-section instead.
Yeah it was a long day and it took me weeks to recover. I vowed then and there that I was never having any more children.
I lied. Just one more. But now I am done.
No, really.
As you can see, May 17 is a pretty important and busy day around here for us. The hubby and I already went out to dinner over this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary so today we are taking the boys to an aquarium for their birthday. It should be a fun day!
So a very happy anniversary to my wonderful husband of eight years (we'll be together for 12 next week) and a very happy 4th birthday to our twins. They drive me to the brink of insanity every day, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
P.S. Um, where did this body go and how can I get it back? Please.
Awww! Happy Anniversary and birthday to your twins!!!!
