For my blog, not my actual face. Overall I am happy with the look of my blog. I love the lily pad and I love the colors. However, I have had this same design and layout since the Spring of 2009. So after more than two years of looking at the same thing every day, I sometimes daydream of getting a new fresh look. There are some pretty amazing blog designers out there and it would be awesome to work with someone on a redesign.
In theory I could do it myself. I mean, I did go to school for graphic design and web design. And I have all of the design software I would need to create all the new graphics. However there is one thing I am seriously lacking in and that is time. With four young children to care for, a husband, a household to maintain and of course a blog to run I just cannot squeeze in time to completely redesign my blog. Plus I have been out of school and the workforce for some time now and my knowledge is outdated. CSS? I don’t think so. Those three letters scare me.
So instead I just sit and think about a blog redesign that I will have done some day. I need to start writing down different ideas that I like so that once I can save up for it, I have a good starting point. I also think about changing my blog name from time to time, but that is a different post for a different day.
If I were to redesign my blog, what would you like to see here? Any suggestions for me?
I've always liked your design! The colors especially. It feels...what's a good word...comfortable(?) to visit? But I totally understand the need for change since I change mine constantly lol Whatever you do will be beautiful, I'm sure - just don't change these awesome colors!! :)

ReplyDeleteIf I had to offer any advice, I would make your header narrower and maybe lighten/brighten the colors up a bit.
I have only had the blog since June and I am dieing for a change as well. LOL And it's only been a few months.. but I Will continue looking at it and leave it the way it is forever. LOL

ReplyDeletelove the header at best i'd change the side bar color. Brown is a bit of a downer but that's 1 persons opinion. I would hate to hear what others think of when they come to my blog. lol

ReplyDeleteI love the look of your blog too! I'm saving up for a redesign though so I totally understand what you're saying. It's like looking in the mirror. Our impression of ourselves is different than others.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog design and the only thing I would change is the header...maybe make it a little more narrow? Otherwise, I don't see how you'd be able to improve it! It's pretty!

ReplyDeletehmmm, maybe switch to wordpress? That is what I finally did. It has made a big difference in my site ... more than I ever expected to be honest! I do love the colors of your site though! :)
