See my problem is I don't like bugs. Or dirt. But I do like fresh organic veggies. So this year I am really trying to suck it up and get some veggies growing. I bought some organic plants from our CSA back in June and surprisingly, I have not killed them yet! In fact, they are doing rather well.
So how does my garden grow?
With bell peppers...
...zucchini blossoms...
...and cherry tomatoes, all in a row!
I have grown cherry tomatoes for a few years now, but this is my first time with peppers and zucchini. I am really anxious for them to grow and ripen! We also have two apple trees that we planted on Earth Day, but that is a different post for a different day. (Trees are hard).
What are you growing in your garden this summer?
The zucchini are easy and you'll get a ton out of them but I do not have great luck with bell peppers (although I keep trying). I have better luck with the hot peppers and banana peppers. I'm growing all those plus cucumbers, okra, kale, brussel sprouts, and a few other kinds of tomatoes and squashes.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the zucchinis because I love to sprinkle them with olive oil and garlic salt and throw them on the grill! So good. I have heard that peppers are hard so I am keeping my fingers crossed. There is an animal nibbling on the leaves, hopefully they leave the peppers alone.
Deletemarianna I am horrible at growing anything. I want to grow food, but I stink at it. I used to joke that the only reason my dog was alive was because he told me when he needed food and water! Good luck with the veggies!
ReplyDeleteI am horrible too. I am really trying my best to remember to water them which is why they are doing well so far. I am waiting for them to kick the bucket though. lol.
DeleteWe're just doing tomatoes - lazy year. Your bell peppers and zucchini look good! In PDX, there's a service where people come out to your house, set up your garden and weed it. They also harvest it and leave the veggies in a nice basket on your porch. I seriously am thinking about signing up for this next year.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great! We're living with my parents right this second and they have two fields - squash, zucchini, tomatoes, different types of peppers, cucumbers, and the corn is done.
